Introduction
The benchmark Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index was down 0.48%1 in January, while the MSCI World Index2declined 3.74% over the month. Total assets under management decreased by US$4.00 billion during the month – the sector witnessed performance-based losses of US$5.92 billion while registering net asset flows of US$1.92 billion. The total size of the industry now stands at US$ 2.01 trillion.
