Introduction
The Eurekahedge Hedge Fund Index was up for the third consecutive month with a 3.29%1 gain in September, bringing the year-to-date return to a healthy 5.02%. Global hedge funds have continuously outperformed underlying markets this year, with the average hedge fund beating the MSCI World Index by 5.1% year-to-date. September also saw strong asset flows, with the industry gaining US$15.6 billion through net allocations.
